													PIBAKAT Food Fair & Charity Sales 2024
SCIB proudly took part in the PIBAKAT Food Fair & Charity Sales 2024, held at the PIBAKAT Centre. The event aimed to support children and young adults with special needs, enhancing their quality of life while raising awareness of their challenges and promoting inclusivity in the community. More than just a charity sale, the event aimed to foster a sense of community, encourage networking and come together in support of these individuals. Our CSR team actively participated by sourcing ingredients, preparing meals, and selling them at the food fair. The proceeds from the charity sales were then handed over to the PIBAKAT representative, highlighting the successful and meaningful contribution to a truly worthy cause while reinforcing our dedication to social responsibility.
 
													SCIB Blood Donation 5.0
In celebration of Merdeka Day, SCIB proudly partnered with the Sarawak Blood Bank to host the vibrant Blood Donation Drive 5.0, making a meaningful impact on the community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of 125 successful donors, the blood bank has been replenished, directly contributing to saving numerous lives. As a token of our gratitude, each participant received a microfibre shirt and a goodie bag, recognizing their invaluable contribution to this life-saving cause. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event. Your involvement no matter how big or small has made a lasting difference! The activity aim to support children and young adults with special needs, enhance their quality of life, raise awareness about their challenges, and promote inclusivity within the community. The event fostered connections, volunteerism, and contributions to create a more supportive environment. The proceeds from the charity sales were handed over to the Pibakat person in charge, marking a successful effort to support a worthy cause and reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility.
 
													Blood Donation Drive – Ohh Kitak Juh Derma Darah!
In celebration of Sarawak Day, SCIB collaborated with the Sarawak Blood Bank to host a remarkable Blood Donation Drive, which was a resounding success. The event received an overwhelming response, reflecting the compassion and unity of Sarawakians. With the generous contribution of 132 successful donors, the blood bank has been replenished, potentially saving numerous lives. As a token of appreciation, we also expressed our heartfelt gratitude by presenting the first 120 participants with microfibre shirts and goodie bags as a symbol of recognition for the donors’ selflessness and dedication to the welfare of others. While the Blood Donation Drive has concluded, the spirit of giving continues to inspire us. Let us carry this sense of compassion and community forward, fostering a culture of caring and positively impacting the well-being of others in every way we can. Total registered donors: 158 Total successful donors: 132
 
													Outreach Programme SK Nanga Pedai and SK Nanga Jagoi, Kanowit, Sibu.
Our CSR initiatives have involved numerous community outreach programs aimed at supporting orphaned children, and underprivileged communities to name a few. Through these programs, we have been able to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to the betterment of our local communities. Upholding our unwavering dedication to progress in education, we have contributed SK Nanga Pedai and SK Nanga Jagoi with cash donations, a few refurbished computers, and printers as part of this initiative, in addition to enhancing the school infrastructure for a more conducive environment.
 
													SCIB Blood Donation Day
In conjunction with Malaysia Day, our SCIB CSR Team is again in collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank (“SGH Blood Bank”) and the Malaysian Red Crescent to organize the “SCIB Blood Donation Day” program! The program was held at the Department of Transfusion Service, and Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital. We managed to register 120 successful donors who received a microfibre shirt and goodie bags. 1. Total registered participants = 145 nos 2. Total successful donors = 120 nos
 
													Asyura porridge cooking program with Kelab Sukan Dan Kebajikan JKR Kemaman
Commemorative the month of Muharram, SCIB subsidiary, collectively referred to as SSJV, had jointly organized the “Asyura porridge cooking program” with the Kelab Sukan dan Kebajikan JKR Kemaman. The event was successfully held on 11 August 2022. Asyura porridge is made from several ingredients, usually consisting of various kinds of vegetables, beans, and meat. The program aims to create team cooperation in promoting the maal hijrah celebration. This traditional activity also lets us understand the spirit of cooperation and tolerance in an activity.
 
													Collaboration program for beach clean-up
SCIB subsidiary, collectively referred to as SSJV, had recently engaged with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Sawa (SMKBS) to hold an on-ground community event. With the same goal to raise awareness about beach litter and marine plastic pollution, the team played the part pitch in collecting beach trash that took place in Pantai Teluk Ketapang to make the beach a clean and safer place for everyone. Through this event, awareness was created regarding the importance of maintaining the beach’s cleanliness, which contributes to the preservation of marine wildlife and creates a safer environment for the beach.
 
													Donation to 80 Orphans through Yayasan Seri Negara
SCIB had donated to 80 orphans under Yayasan Seri Negara (YSN) at an Aidilfitri open house. The one-day event is officially launched by the patron of YSN, YBhg Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim together with the representative from SCIB. It was delighted to continue the collaboration with YSN which give us the platform to take proactive steps toward supporting the unfortunate as the proceeds from SCIB towards the open house will help the orphans under YSN. We will continue to play an active role in providing assistance to the needy and hopes that the contributions will lead to a brighter future for the children.
 
													Donations to orphans in Kelantan through Yayasan Seri Negara
SCIB had contributed RM10,000 to the orphans in the Rumah Anak Yatim dan Dhuafa’ Siti Aminah under the lhya Ramadhan 2022 programme organized by Yayasan Seri Negara (“YSN”). The lhya Ramadhan 2022 programme is organized throughout multiple locations in Malaysia by YSN. The programme features a berbuka puasa event which also acts as a platform to provide charitable donations to orphans and selected asnaf groups. The event is launched by the patron of YSN, YBhg Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim attended by orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim dan Dhuafa’ Siti Aminah, widows, and also retirees from the Royal Malaysia Police (“PDRM”). In the spirit of togetherness and gratitude of Ramadan, we are delighted to have the chance to provide assistance to the children through the programme.

The event was successfully held on 16 September 2021 in conjunction with Malaysia Day to create public awareness about blood donation and address the blood shortage at the Sarawak General Hospital, setting the standards of SCIB’s culture to give back to the community. The Blood Donation Drive Program was held at the Department of Transfusion Service and Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital, where the first 100 successful donors were given free goodies bags sponsored by SCIB. Total registered donors: 125 and total successful donors: 115
 
													Donation to communities affected by Covid-19 Pandemic In Pulau Redang
SCIB subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn Bhd (SIBS), and its joint-venture partner Sasoakai Resources Sdn Bhd (SRSB), collectively referred to as SSJV, had hold the first CSR event with the Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM) to support Pulau Redang communities who are severely affected by COVID-19. The event was held successfully on 2 September 2021, attended by 100 asnaf families who also received donations totaling RM10,000, presented by SCIB Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Rosland Othman and Chief Executive Officer SRSB Syed Ahmad Anas. The SSJV CSR team also visited the homes of the asnaf families who are unable to attend the event to distribute the donations directly and acknowledging their other needs, namely school materials, food supplies, and medications. We are confident that this first CSR event will be the stepping stone for future SSJV CSR team’s initiatives in distributing donations to the needy and charity event
 
													Sentuhan Kasih Aidil Fitri
In ramping up our momentum in aiding those in need, SCIB CSR group is driven under the demonstration of sharing love and “sadaqah jariyah” to 51 underprivileged anak-anak asnaf from the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dan Pendidikan Nur Murni in the holy month of Ramadan. The delivered items include the “Takeaway Sungkey Juadah”, childrens’ towel, grown-up and children’s veils, sanitizers, and some duit Raya, to lighten their burden amid the COVID’19 pandemic during the Raya festive celebration. We practice strict SOP throughout the entire event to ensure the safety of participants is adequately guarded.
 
													Blood Replenishment Campaign for Sarawak General Hospital
SCIB had jointly organised the Blood Replenishment Campaign with the Malaysian Red Crescent Sarawak and the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank. This event was successfully held on 16 September 2020 in conjunction with Malaysia Day. The objective of this event is to create public awareness about blood donation and address the blood shortage at the Sarawak General Hospital. We thank the Guest of Honor, Kuching South Mayor, Dato Wee Hong Seng for officiating this event. We also thank the support and contributions from the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank , the Malaysian Red Crescent Sarawak and Kuching South City Council. Not forgetting our SCIB CSR Team who helped make this event possible. Most of all, we must thank all the hero donors. Total registered donors: 73 and total successful donors: 53
 
													Back to School Donation 2020
As we continue to stay committed to the business success, we are concurrently expanding our effort in promoting our CSR activities internally and to wider outreach. To ease the burden of our workers, SCIB has stepped up in response to the COVID-19 (the coronavirus) pandemic where on the 24th of August, we successfully handed over face masks and sanitizers to our workers’ children ranging from Primary 1 to Form 6. The face masks and hand sanitizers donation has been extended to two (2) schools in Bau District the following week. Through this “Sentuhan Kasih SCIB” CSR program, about 234 students have benefitted as we help prepare them for school reopening and create awareness about the Covid-19 pandemic. We thank our employees who have shown great spirit of volunteerism in this event.
 
													Coral Reef Propagation Project
As part of our Recycle Waste Programs and our initiatives to become an environmentally responsible corporate citizen, SCIB participated in the Coral Reef Propagation project in collaboration with Jabatan Perikanan Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak where SCIB donated obsolete or defect piles and U culverts to help rehabilitate reefs, preserve the coral species and mitigate the damage of the marine ecosystem through propagation.

SCIB participated in the charity fundraising event organised by the local community to encourage our employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
 
													Charity Sales & Food Fair 2019
SCIB took part in the charity sales and food fair organised by the Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) which aimed to raise funds to help children overcome autism and also create public awareness about autism.

SCIB participated in the charity fundraising event organised by the Sarawak Society for Parents of Children with Special Needs by setting up food stores sponsored by the Company. The objective of the participation is to be active in the social and moral welfare of the community and to bring joy and hope to children with special needs.
 
													Zumbathon Charity 2019
SCIB supported a Zumbathon event organised by a non-profit welfare organisation to help raise funds for children with special needs and at the same time cultivate a healthy lifestyle.
