SCIB posts 17.4pct higher net profit in Q2
KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd’s (SCIB) net profit rose 17.4 per cent to RM993,000 in the second quarter (Q2) ended Dec 31, 2024 from RM846,000 a year ago.
SCIB’s revenue increased 30.83 per cent to RM49.83 million from RM38.09 million in the same period in 2023, driven by improved project execution and enhanced operational efficiencies.
The manufacturing division, which remains SCIB’s core business, recorded RM30.67 million in revenue in the current quarter.
This was an increase from RM28.76 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, bolstered by high demand for foundation piles, Industrial Building System products and other precast concrete solutions.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB), which posted a small net profit in the third quarter ended March 31 (3Q24), is confident of maintaining its profitability going forward, according to managing director Ku Chong Hong.
In 3Q24, the industrialised building systems specialist posted a net profit of RM755,000, or earnings per share of 0.12 sen compared with a net loss of RM1.03mil, or loss per share of 0.18 sen in the same period last year.

SCIB sues Dynamic Prestige Consultancy over RM14m refunds
KUALA LUMPUR (July 27): Civil engineering specialist Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) has filed a lawsuit against Dynamic Prestige Consultancy Sdn Bhd and is seeking RM14 million in refunds previously paid to “explore business opportunities in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) sector”.
SCIB claimed that it had paid the sum “in tranches” to Dynamic Prestige between October and November last year.

Clients to assume SCIB’s debt obligation for six projects in Qatar and Oman
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 20): Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) is set to gain US$13.32 million (RM60.72 million) after the clients of six contracts in Qatar and Oman agreed to take on the debts that the group owes to its subcontractors for the projects.
SCIB’s US$133.42 million debt obligations to the subcontractors are to be taken up by the projects’ respective clients, and are to be fulfilled by utilising the US$146.74 million debts the clients owe SCIB and its unit SCIB International (Labuan) Ltd (SCIBL), the group said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.

SCIB clinches second road infra project in Sarawak worth RM38 mln
KUCHING (May 24): Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Properties Sdn Bhd (SCIB Properties), has accepted a letter of award (LOA) from Masama Sdn Bhd (Masama) for an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract worth RM38 million for the road infrastructure projects in Sarawak.

Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad has accepted an LOA for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract from Masama Sdn Bhd. for the construction of road infrastructure in Bukit Goram, Katibas, Ngemah, and Machan as well as the proposed construction of Nanga Banjor, Nanga Makut roads and Katibas in Daerah Song, Sarawak.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 10): Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB), which missed its Oct 31 deadline to issue its annual report for the financial year ended June 30, 2021 (FY21), said on Wednesday (Nov 10) it had terminated six engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contracts in Qatar and Oman to mitigate risks arising from long-overdue debts owed by its clients.
SCIB said in a bourse filing it had signed the respective settlement agreements with Pavilion Qatar Engineering Co W.L.L, Revenue International LLC, Interceptor Trading & Contracting W.L.L and Skyview Trading & Contracting W.L.L in the two countries to mutually terminate the contracts previously awarded to SCIB and its wholly-owned subsidiary company SCIB International (Labuan) Ltd between Oct 25, 2019 and Dec 3, 2020.

In a statement today, SCIB said the first contract, awarded by Dermaga Makmur Sdn Bhd, was to construct new school with 12 classrooms, six units of residences for teachers and other facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kalor, Betong, Sarawak with an estimated value of RM18.3mil and was expected to be completed in March 2022.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 3): Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) has bagged two engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contracts for an estimated total value of RM271.1 million.
The contracts, one in Sarawak and the other in the Gulf nation of Qatar, have increased the group’s order book to RM1.7 billion, the integrated civil construction group said.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd posted RM5.97 million net profit in the second quarter ended June 30 2020 to reverse the RM110,000 net loss a year ago. Group revenue rose more than four fold to RM94.91 million from RM17.86 million previously, SCIB said in a statement today. The higher revenue was mainly contributed by its construction and EPCC segment at RM84.53 million followed by its manufacturing segment at RM10.38 million.
